I read this on the morning that Gracelyn Cassidy came into this world. The rest of it went something like this:
“For every man, the world is as fresh as it was the first day, and as full of untold novelties for him who has the eyes to see them.” (Huxley)
And then this:
“God make me receptive and aware; restore to me my capacity for wonder.”
I read it every year on her birthday (and many days in between) to remind me of the need to be aware of every tiny little thing that happens along the way. And to be reminded to be in awe and filled with wonder at what unfolds before me.
Another lovely day spent: visiting the jolly, festively dressed, white bearded guy (who took his break at the pub in the square…not kidding), coffee with friends and family at Starbucks (of course), followed by a delicious dinner down in civilization and a trip to grocery store heaven. Yes, that would be Whole Foods. Call me what you will, I love to shop there.
Cheers on this Christmas Eve. And if Christmas isn’t your thing, then Happy belated Hannukah, Kwaanza, Festivus, Winter Solstice, etc, etc, etc. Just basically…Happy Holidays!
