Happy Solstice!! A PERFECT day! Snow, snow, snow!

Where to start??

OK, first things first.  Happy Solstice to all!!  The Winter Solstice is very special to this family.  Seven years ago on Friday December 22, 2006 at 4:43 p.m. the arrival of a tiny bundle released an overwhelming tide of joy into the Universe.  Our very own bundle of joy, given to us by the Universe to have and to hold, to treasure, to love, to guide.  We have been so incredibly blessed there simply are not enough words to express it.  That day was the Winter Solstice of 2006.

So every year since then we celebrate the Winter Solstice.  It is a time to reflect on the year that has come before, to say a prayer for the year to come, to celebrate family and friends.  We will be lighting the bonfire tonight at the time of the Solstice and sending our wishes to the Universe.  We wish you all the blessings that have been bestowed on this family!

Second…A PERFECT DAY!  Watching the antics out the kitchen window, while cooking and baking for the Solstice feast tonight.  Bing and Danny crooning on the telly as I snuck in the “White Christmas” DVD.  A Peppermint Mocha saved from the Starbucks run last night, after the also perfect day skiing.  Ahhhhhh……..nirvana.

Third…SNOW, SNOW, SNOW!!!  It’s finally here.  Big, fat, fluffy flakes!  Gorgeous.  And looking like it’s here to stay.  We only got a dusting the last couple of days, despite the initial forecast for 8 to 12 inches.  But now we’ve got it and wow is it absolutely DIVINE!  All while the gang is singing “Snow, snow, snow, snow…”  Check out the classic and you’ll be able to sing along with Bing and the gang.

Me?  I’ve got to get back to the preparations for the Solstice Celebration!

(Check in tomorrow for the 7 year old’s bday!!)

(She was moving too fast to get a good shot, but there were a lot of downhill runs, not just the dadster pulling her up the hill!)
